Myrtle M. Boddicker, 93, died Saturday, July 28, 2018, at the Ed and Joan Hemphill Hospice Inpatient Unit in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton with the Rev. Stephen K. Preus officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton. Myrtle was born July 18, 1925, the daughter of Otto William and Theresa Matilda (Klinefelter) Lambertus, in Milford, Iowa. Myrtle was united in marriage to Ben A. Boddicker on June 3, 1953, in Nashua, Ben preceded her in death on March 28, 1982.
Myrtle worked for Nissen Universal for 23 years in the sewing shop, where she produced trampolines and tumbling mats. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was a member of Mary Martha and Mission Circle. Myrtle also was a member of the Lutheran Home Auxiliary. She was an excellent seamstress and made many bridesmaids dresses.
Myrtle is survived by her children, Sharon (Wayne) Rhinehart of Vinton, Carolyn (Ronnie) Crady of Grinnell, Dennis (Marlee) Boddicker of Knoxville, LeAnna (Bruce) Williams and DiAnna (Greg) Gerdes, all of Cedar Rapids, Cheryl Keil of Vinton and Mike (Tina) Boddicker of Grinnell; her 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Leanna Hass.
In addition to her parents and husband, Myrtle was preceded in death by her son, William "Bill" Boddicker; her brothers, Virgil, John and Lester; and her sister, Marian.
Phillips Funeral Home, Vinton, is in charge of arrangements.
