Myron A. Wilcox, 84, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at the funeral home. Entombment: Linwood Cemetery Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids. A reception will immediately follow entombment at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood.
Myron was born Oct. 29, 1936, in Mitchell, S.D., the son of Arthur and Bessie (Matheny) Wilcox. On Sept. 12, 1955, he was united in marriage to Audrey Fowler. Myron was a union painter for Local 477. He was a hard worker that loved to do landscaping and maintenance for the family properties. Above all, he enjoyed the time spent with his children and grandchildren; especially when they got a chance to go fishing.
Survivors include his children, Mark (Bonnie) Wilcox, Myron "Marty" (Linda) Wilcox II and Angie Wilcox, all of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Myron was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Wilcox; son, Michael Wilcox; parents, Arthur and Bessie Wilcox; and brother, Alvin Wilcox.
