Musel, Ronald Lester
Ronald Lester Musel, 76, of 1113 18th St. NW, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center after a sudden illness. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus. Burial: 1:30 p.m., St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelsea. A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., and at the church Saturday after 9 a.m.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Dorothy; six children, Danita (Brad) Beier of Austin, Texas, Diane (Roger) Wilson of Independence, Deborah (Andrew) Adams of Bellflower, Calif., Darin (Mary) Musel of Maquoketa, Denise (Douglas) Anderson of Eau Claire, Wis., and Rosanne (Allan) Pape of Austin, Texas; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy (Don) Martens of Tama and Audrey (Nicholas) Beuter of Iowa City; and a brother, Craig Musel of Chelsea.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant son, Allen.
Ron was born Dec. 10, 1936, in Tama County, the son of Joseph and Elsie Musel. He married Dorothy Behaunek on Jan. 17, 1959, in Chelsea. Ronald worked for many years at Kelty Radiator Co. and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Ron loved fishing with his grandchildren, working in his garden, creating a variety of items in his woodworking shop, and taking time to play with his cat.
