Musel-McCoy, Lisa M.
Lisa M. Musel-McCoy, 44, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 14, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father Thomas McDermott. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, with a vigil service at 6 p.m. Burial: Rector Cemetery, Chelsea.
Survivors include her husband, Doug McCoy; her parents, Fran and Kathy Musel of Cedar Rapids; brother, Tim Musel of Orlando, Fla.; sister, Laurie Smejkal, and brother-in-law, Dave McGrath, both of Cedar Rapids; father-in-law, David McCoy Sr. of Ottumwa; sisters-in-law, Kim (Mike) Naber of Dysart and Bobbi McCoy of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law, David McCoy Jr. of Ottumwa; nieces and nephews, Madison, Cassie, Cole, Jon (Joann), Jake, Jessie (Jeremy), Michael, Matt, Brie and Jordan; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Lisa was born Dec. 2, 1966, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Fran and Kathy (Hrabak) Musel. She graduated from LaSalle High School in 1985 and attended Kirkwood Community College. Most recently she worked for PS Air.
Lisa loved spending time with her family and friends, especially the camping trips. She enjoyed caring for animals, including her five birds and one dog. Lisa kept a very clean house and aspired to learn to play the piano.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ken and Louise Hrabak and Joseph and Vlasta Musel; and her mother-in-law, Marilyn McCoy.
Memorials will be directed to animal rescue organizations or St. Ludmila Catholic Church.
