Murphy, Lois R.
Lois R. Murphy, 85, of Manchester, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, in the Good Neighbor Home from natural causes. Private family services were held on Tuesday, March 16.
Murdoch Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Cedar Rapids handled the arrangements.
Survivors include her son, Steve Murphy and wife Carol of Cedar Rapids, and their sons, Justin Murphy of Cedar Rapids, and Robert and wife Minna Rudd of North Bend, Wash.; and a daughter, Lynn and husband Daniel Martin, and their son, Ryan and fiancee Kaylie Hobbs, all of Douglasville, Ga. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Emmitt and Cassidy Rudd.
Lois was born to Harry and Emma Gathmann on Sept. 28, 1924, in Milwaukee, Wis. She married the love of her life, Capt. Keith E. Murphy, on Jan. 5, 1946, in Cedar Rapids. Her beloved “Murph” preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 2009.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either the Penn Center in Delhi or the Good Neighbor Home Memory Care Unit in Manchester.
