Murphy, Jay L. McIntyre
Jay L. McIntyre Murphy, 30, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a brief illness. Funeral services will be at noon Thursday, Dec. 17, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton, with Pastor Howe of Cornerstone Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be held at Koszta Cemetery, south of Belle Plaine. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the family at 1307 W. Fourth St., Vinton, IA 52349.
Jay was born July 9, 1979, at Iowa City, the son of Raymond L. and Candice (Niedert) Murphy. On Aug. 21, 2002, he married Elizabeth A. Thompson at Vinton. Jay was employed with Stanley Roofing. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and the Firebird Nation Car Club.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; three daughters, Hannah, Hailee and Hali, of Vinton; his Mom and Dad, Candy and Raymond Murphy of Vinton; and his brothers, Bill Murphy of Toledo, Jimmy McIntyre-Murphy of Vinton, Christian Murphy of Cedar Rapids and Raymond Lee Murphy Jr. of Vinton.
