Muriel A. Hillers, 92, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. Visitation for Muriel will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester. Funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Thursday with an additional visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the funeral service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Delaware with the Rev. David Weber officiating. Graveside will follow 2 p.m. at Oakland Cemetery, Manchester. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
Muriel was born Feb. 24, 1929, in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of Dale W. and Elvira (Logan) Munger. She graduated from Manchester High School. Muriel married Raymond Hillers on Aug. 26, 1956, at First Presbyterian Church in Manchester. She worked as a bookkeeper for Gosling and Company, as a teller at First State Bank and Social Services in Manchester. Muriel was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Delaware and was on the Commission Board for the Aging. She enjoyed quilting and especially spending time with her family.
Muriel is survived by her sons, Myron (Rebecca) Hillers and Rodney (Elizabeth) Hillers, both of Illinois; daughter, Ramona (Mark) Schultz of Michigan; eight grandchildren, Emily (Jeffrey) Breitner, Stacey Schultz, Lucas Hillers, Lindsey (Joshua) Mitchell, Lauren (Tobias) Ziemer, Zechariah Hillers, Kyle (Sarah) Smith and Daniel (Andrea) Smith; 11 great-grandchildren, Ariah, Asher and Alaina Mitchell, Vivian and Bennett Breitner, Dakota, Hunter and Saylor Smith, Mackenna Lira, Olivia Smith and Emelia Smith; and great-great-granddaughter, Phoebe Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Elvira Munger; her husband, Raymond; sisters, Della (Clifford) Berndt and Miriam (Thays) Manwiller; and brother, Dale Douglass Munger.
Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Delaware, St. Croix Hospice and Camp Courageous.
