Munson, Dennis Dean
Dennis Dean Munson, 74, of Vinton, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Per his wishes, his body has been cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa is assisting the family.
Survivors include his wife, Judy, of Vinton; son, John Munson of Toledo; daughter, Pam Munson of Belle Plaine; and sister, Cheryl Berlandi of Winchester, Mass. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Jason (Kari) Munson of Newton and Dorene (Jeff) Arment of Brooklyn; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
Dennis Dean Munson was born April 4, 1935, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, the son of LaVern and Helen (Poduska) Munson. He married Judy Kay Gordon on Nov. 22, 1981, in Hayward, Calif. Denny was a sheet metal fabricator for many years and also enjoyed locksmithing.
