Mueller, Erwin E.
Erwin E. Mueller, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, April 5, 2013, at Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Dr. Ritva Williams. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Alyce; children, Susan (Kevin) Booth of Palo, Duane (Teresa) Mueller of Cedar Rapids and Ann (Albert) Fowler of Bedminster, Pa.; son-in-law, Clifford Broxey of Palo; nine grandchildren, Amy, Carolyn (Jeremy), James, Adam, George, Roger, Nicklaus, Nicole (Brad) and Andrea; and five great-grandchildren, Quentin, Isaiah, Amaya, David and Carter.
Erwin was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Gayle Broxey; one brother and two sisters.
Born July 13, 1922, in Akaska, S.D., Erwin was the son of John and Christina (Schilling) Mueller. Erwin served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He graduated from Iowa State University. On Oct. 19, 1952, he was united in marriage to Alyce Lykken in Kindred, N.D. Erwin was a chemical engineer at Wilson Foods for over 20 years.
Erwin was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church and his joys were hunting and fishing in Canada. He was even tempered with a very gentle heart and never got mad.
