Edith Elisabeth (Aydeet) Mueller
Edith Elisabeth (Aydeet) Mueller of Iowa City died on Sept 3, 2010, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after a sudden illness. She was 64.
Edith Elisabeth was born in Switzerland, the daughter of Karl and Myrtha Mueller-Schelling. A lifelong student of many disciplines, she was a registered nurse, and received her Ph.D. in religion from the University of Iowa in 1999. Her dissertation was published in 2001 as The Micah Story: A Morality Tale in the Book of Judges. She traveled the world, worked for many years as an interfaith spiritual counselor and healer, and always believed in the future enlightenment of humankind.
Her family includes her two children, Simona Fischer of Minneapolis and Marcus Fischer of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; her mother, Myrtha Mueller-Schelling, and her brother, Rolf Mueller, both residing in Switzerland.
A memorial celebrating the life of Edith Elisabeth will take place on Oct. 16. Those wishing to attend are asked to contact Karen at (319) 354-7861 for further information.
