Mrstik, Mark Roy
Mark Roy Mrstik, 53, of Hiawatha, died Saturday, July 31, 2010, following a sudden illness. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn; his parents, Roy and Dorothy Mrstik of Cedar Rapids; children, Erika Mrstik of Hiawatha, and Mark Mrstik II of Cedar Rapids; stepchildren, Boone Bruce of Cedar Rapids, Erin Bruce of Vinton, and Joey (Cassie) Bruce of Cedar Rapids; his siblings, Roger (Penny) Mrstik, Beverly (Lester) Batey and Cheryl Mrstik, all of Cedar Rapids; and 10 grandchildren.
Mark was born March 23, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Roy W. and Dorothy R. (McGowan) Mrstik. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School and went on to serve in the United States Army. He was employed for 19 years at Rockwell Collins in machine maintenance. More recently, he was employed as a truck driver. He married Evelyn Rommann on Sept. 22, 2007, in Cedar Rapids. He enjoyed fishing, camping and riding his Harley.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mark's name.
