Mrstik, Barbara 'Joan'
Barbara “Joan” Mrstik, 79, a resident of Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, following an extended illness. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert J. Mrstik; their daughters, Terri (Ron) Fish of Urbana and Patti (Rod) Mrstik of Marion; grandchildren, Jason (Victoria) Fish and Jeramy (Joy) Fish, both of Urbana; great-grandchildren, Will and Jordan Fish and Jordan and Kaitlyn Guyer, all of Urbana; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Also survived by special friends, Carol and Jim Franks.
“Joan” was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Pamela; four brothers, David, Roy, Bob and Lee Dickson; and three sisters, Mildred Boyer, Gladyce Boyer and twin sister Jane Keith.
Barbara “Joan” Mrstik was born Aug. 6, 1932, in Benton City, Iowa, the daughter of Roy and Verna (Case) Dickson. “Joan” worked for many years in food services at St. Luke's Hospital.
