Mrozinski, William James
William James Mrozinski, 67, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, in St. Luke's Hospital from a sudden illness. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at St. Jude Catholic Church, by the Rev. Mark Reasoner. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and after 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Survivors include his wife Judith L. Mrozinski; a son, Jason W. (Melanie) Mrozinski of El Dorado Hills, Calif.; a daughter, Amy L. (Jon Franck) of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Aiden W. Mrozinski and Charlotte A. Mrozinski, both of El Dorado Hills, Calif.; two brothers, Jerry L. Mrozinski of Cedar Rapids and Robert J. (Ruth) Dreske of Hamilton, Ohio; a sister, Patricia J. (Jerome) Kauflin of Cedar Rapids; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roger C. and Betty R Wilke of Michigan City, Ind.; an uncle, Lewis Dreske of LaPorte, Ind.; and his Godchildren, J.J. Mrozinski of Estero, Fla., Bryant G. Drazer of Englewood, Ohio and Nicole C. Jones of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are cousins, loving nieces and nephews, and many special friends. He also leaves behind his four-legged grandchildren, Sarge, Roxy, Ariel, Tate and Calvin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
William was born Aug. 2, 1944, in LaPorte, Ind., the son of William J. Mrozinski and Irene Dreske Mrozinski. He married Judith L. Arview on Feb. 22, 1971, in Michigan City, Ind. Bill moved to Cedar Rapids in December 1970 to help his brother Jerry establish the McDonald franchise. He was district manager. There are now nine stores in the Cedar Rapids, Marion and Anamosa areas.
William was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Moose Lodge, Ducks Unlimited and the American Legion in Fairfax. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, Iowa Hawkeye fan, card player, and great cook. He loved cooking for his family and friends.
His family and friends meant everything to him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
