Mr. Michael Heald "Mike" Bowser, Sr., 69, of Williamson, formerly of Morrow, Ga., passed away Nov. 27, 2018. He was born in Cedar Rapids, son of the late Virgil Bowser and Eleanor Lochner Bowser. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War, where he received two Bronze Stars and several accommodations. Mike was very active in the VFW in Jonesboro, Ga. He was an avid football and NASCAR fan. The Georgia Bulldogs, Iowa Hawkeyes and No. 11 Denny Hamlin were his favorites. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Bowser; children and their spouses, Michael Jr. and Shauna Bowser of Pittsburgh, Pa., Donny and Theresa Bowser of Zebulon, Ga., and Curtis and Tonya Bowser of Stockbridge, Ga.; grandchildren, Savannah, Ayden, Cody and Grayson Bowser; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gordon and Lynn Bowser and Dave and Linda Bowser, all of Marion, Iowa; sister and brother-in-law, Jan and Jack Gilmour of Cedar Rapids; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family from 2 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at the funeral home. A memorial service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.
