Moyer, Ronald E.
Ronald E. Moyer, 84, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital in its Hospice facility in Cedar Rapids. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Pastor Barb Krueger will officiate at the service. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, rural Anamosa.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Irma; son, Randy (Mary) Moyer of Anamosa; daughter, Kristine Moyer of Chicago; two grandchildren, Tammy (Tim) Marek of Anamosa and Terrie (Kirk) Prybil of Anamosa; five great-grandchildren, Ty and Tabitha Marek, Preston Bowers, Samantha and Reegan Prybil; a sister, Elsie (Richard) LeClere of Belvidere, Ill.; and a brother, Rayferd (Jane) Moyer of Central City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dorothy Silver and Florence Michels; and two brothers, Franklin and Howard.
Ronald was born July 17, 1928, in Central City, Iowa, the son of G. Frank and Elsie Moss Moyer. He was a 1946 graduate of Central City High School. Ronald served his country in the United States Navy from August 1946 to August 1951. On Oct. 4, 1953, Ronald and Irma Johnson were united in marriage at the Anamosa Baptist Church. Ronald started working for Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids in October 1951 as an inspector and in machine maintenance until retiring in December 1985.
He was a member of the Morley First United Methodist Church, a 50-year member and Past Master of the Anamosa Masonic Lodge, a life member of the Anamosa American Legion, AMVETS Post and member of the Honor Guard.
