Moser, Richard 'Dick'
Richard “Dick” Moser, 69, of Delhi, died Monday, March 22, 2010, at the Regional Hospital, Manchester, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Delhi, with interment in the Evergreen Cemetery, Delhi. Pastor Donald Krause will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Hopkinton.

Survivors include his wife, Elnora; three children, Karlyn (Duane) Heims of Manchester, Kevin (Beth) Moser of Atkins, and Kristin (Mike) Hucker of Hopkinton, six stepchildren, Scott (Krystal) Sternhagen of Hopkinton, Cayleen Sternhagen of Wayne, N.J., Lonnie (Callie) Sternhagen, Kevin Sternhagen, Kerry (Kay) Sternhagen and Fred Sternhagen, all of Delhi; 23 grandchildren; a sister, Betty Groen of Denver; two brothers, Jerry (Betty) Moser of Wentzville, Mo., and David (Roberta) Moser of Lakewood, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Helen.
Richard Lee Moser was born Dec. 12, 1940, at Willett Hospital, Manchester. He was the son of Martin and Leone Tracy Moser. He graduated from the Delhi Consolidated Schools in 1958. He farmed in Milo Township, Delaware County, Iowa for 12 years. Dick married Charlotte Beitz on Sept. 16, 1962 at the United Methodist Church, Buck Creek. Dick later worked at Cuckler Buildings in Monticello, was a field man for Swiss Valley Creamery in Hopkinton and worked at the Iowa Men's Reformatory in Anamosa. From 1993 until 2003, he worked for Quality Inc. Construction in Cedar Rapids.
Dick married Elnora Collmann-Sternhagen on June 29, 1986, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Delhi. Dick was a member of The Maquoketa Valley Booster Club for 12 years. He played softball for the Delhi and Hopkinton town teams and Tucker Construction. He bowled for ATI, Bankers Insurance, Hartwick Marina and loved to pitch horseshoes.
