Nancy B. Mortensen, 60, of Ely, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids.
Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at First Presbyterian Church, Ely, by the Rev. Dr. Julie Schuett. Family will greet
friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Fairview Cemetery, Denmark, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, Dave Mortensen of Ely; sons, Jacob Mortensen of New York City and Ethan Mortensen of Ely; and siblings, Kathy Hanson of Ames and Denis (Donna) Burk of Weaver, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Nancy was born April 25, 1953, in Burlington, Iowa, daughter of William and Marguerite (Hunter) Burk. She married Dave Mortensen on May 14, 1977, in Fort Madison. Nancy was a CPA for McGladrey.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Ely and the Cedar Valley Amateur Radio Club. Nancy loved horses and animals. She was a ham radio operator.
Nancy was a friend to all and will be sorely miss by her family and friends.
