Morrison, Corleen Marie Freeman
Corleen Marie Freeman Morrison, 81, died Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall, with the Rev. Steven Rempfer officiating. Committal services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Visitation also will be held at the church from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday.
A memorial fund has been established. Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton is in charge of arrangements.
Corleen was born Oct. 2, 1928, at Newhall, to George and Matilda (Koopman) Freeman and graduated from the Newhall High School in 1946. On Oct. 15, 1950, she was united in marriage to Alden J. Morrison at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall. Corleen was employed at Norwest Bank in Newhall for 42 years, retiring as manager in 1996. A member of St John Lutheran Church in Newhall, Corleen was also a member of several card clubs and was an avid Hawkeye sports fan. She loved entertaining family and friends, shared her kind and tender heart with older people and those in need, and collected Boyd's Bears.
She is survived by her husband, Alden of Newhall; her daughters, Amy (Don) Frazier of Van Horne and Sue (Jim) Wubben of Buffalo Center; and five grandchildren, Rachel and Ashlee Frazier and Amanda, Melissa and Jessica Wubben.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Charles Hannemann.
