Morris, Orville W.
Orville W. Morris, 90, died at home Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011. Services: 10 a.m. Friday at First Church of the Open Bible, Cedar Rapids, by Pastors Dan Sanford, Charles Stevens and Larry Janda. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, with military honors. A visitation will be held today from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids and after 9 a.m. Friday at the church.
Survivors include his sons, Billy Enyart and Rex Morris, both of Marion; three grandchildren, Rick (Sue) Enyart, Larry (Trisha) Enyart and Dot (Jon) Styre; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen.
Orville was born Sept. 3, 1920, in Cedar Rapids, to James and Grace Morris. Orville was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He married Mary Ellen Houck on Nov. 27, 1949, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Orville grew up on the family farm in Toddville and farmed in the Marion area for over 50 years while also working at FMC until his retirement.
He was a dedicated church member at the First Church of the Open Bible, serving on the Board of Elders and as a deacon for 50 years.
A memorial fund has been established.
