Neva C. Morris, 91, of Geneva Tower in Cedar Rapids, died peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at Living Center West in Cedar Rapids following a long illness. Memorial Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at Marion Christian Church, 1050 McGowan Blvd., Marion, by the Rev. Peter Mitchell. Friends may visit with the family one hour before the service on Friday. In-urnment: Sixteen Cemetery near What Cheer at a later date. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the
family.
Neva is survived by her sons, David (Sheri) Morris of Oelwein and Richard (TerriLynn) of Rock Falls, Ill.; daughter, Cathy (Tom) Fuller of Cedar Rapids; grandson, Mark Fuller of Cedar Rapids; granddaughter, Melanie (Brian) Van- Weelden of Shellsburg; six stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Carol (Gene) Klimstra of Fulton, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; daughter, Patricia; son, Ronald; and brother, Kenneth Weiss.
Neva was born Feb. 6, 1922, in Deep River, the daughter of Albert Henry and Leah Marie Rank Weiss. Neva married Earl Oscar Morris on Jan. 11, 1941, in Kirksville, Mo. She attended Area 10 (now Kirkwood Community College) and was in the first graduating class for Licensed Practical Nurses. She worked for many years as a LPN at Mercy Medical Center and then as a Private Duty Nurse.
Throughout her years Neva was an active community volunteer and even received the Presidential Volunteer Award. She attended Cedar Christian Church and then Marion Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Memorials may be directed to St. Luke's
Hospice.
