Morris, Marcia Dee

Marcia Dee Morris, 81, a resident of Willow Gardens, Marion, formerly of Anamosa, died May 14, 2011. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. The Rev. David Hagstrom of St. Mark's Lutheran Church will officiate. Friends may call at the chapel after 12:45 p.m. Wednesday. Inurnment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Surviving are her sons, Matt Allbee of North Liberty and Ted (Annette) Allbee of Marion; grandchildren, Shawn and Jessica Allbee; great-granddaughter, Jocelyn Morgan; her sister, Nola White of Davenport; stepchildren, Sharon (Karl) Kirkpatrick of Iowa City and Richard Morris of Center Point; stepgrandchildren, John Hall and Jealee (Matt) Hall-Jones; as well as several extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Harold “Tick” Morris.

Marcia was born Dec. 10, 1929, in Sioux Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Gerhard and Etta (Clark) Peterson. She was a graduate of Spencer High School. She was employed in various positions at Merchants National Bank from 1970 to 1991. She was a volunteer at Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa, a member of the Eastern Star, and a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening and time spent with her family.

She will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Marcia's honor.
