Morris, Jesse Jr.
Jesse Morris Jr., 69, of Iowa City, and formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, April 16, 2011, at his home. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Jesse was born Oct. 6, 1941, in Memphis, Tenn., the son of Jesse Morris Sr. and Mattie L. (Jackson) Morris. Prior to moving to Iowa City in 1990, Jesse had resided in Cedar Rapids for nearly 25 years. He enjoyed a number of occupations over the years, but he would say that cooking was his passion to share with family, friends and customers who eat at the restaurants where he worked.
His family includes his sister, Elizabeth Richardson; nephew and his wife, Ricky and Janice Morris all of Cedar Rapids; three daughters; one son, a host of great-nieces and nephews; and his dearest friend, Susan Smith of Iowa City.
