Morris, Glenn Richard
Glenn took pride in being a loving, active and supportive father and loyal friend. He relished the role of grandfather with the same zeal as he did everything present in his life. He did not hesitate to teach them to fish, canoe, hunt or ride a horse and was eternally open to new experiences himself, like learning to snow ski in his mid-50s. He fancied himself a cowboy, and possessed the horse, buggy, hat, boots and belt buckle to prove it. Many a trail ride in Missouri found Glenn entertaining the pack on his buckboard. Likely, he would have been strumming his guitar and singing country music.
Glenn supported many organizations including NRA, Izaak Walton League and even sponsored a child from age three to 18 through Children International. His generosity was unmatched in spirit, life and love.
“Let no one weep for me, or celebrate my funeral with mourning; for I still live, as I pass to and fro through the mouths of men.” - Quintus Ennius
A celebration honoring and remembering Glenn's life will be held on Saturday, July 23, at the American Legion Hall, Shellsburg, from 2 to 5 p.m. Military rites will be performed at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House or Children International.
Online condolences may be left at under obituaries.
