Morness, Eva L.
Eva L. Morness, 93, passed away at Forest Hill Manor in Pacific Grove, Calif., on Dec. 11, 2012.
She was born to Eva and Phillip M. Cloud on Nov. 1, 1919, in Manchester, Iowa. She grew up with five brothers and sisters, and had wonderful memories of her younger years. She was married to Robert Burbridge as a young woman, and they raised their two daughters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her husband sadly passed away at an early age. After his death, she spent several lonely years until she reunited with an old family friend. Einer Morness was to become her second husband, and she moved to Pacific Grove, Calif., to share her life with him. Einer passed away in 1995 and after a few years alone, she chose to move to Forest Hill Manor, where she enjoyed her apartment overlooking the ocean. As time went on, it became necessary for her to receive additional care. She spent her final years in the skilled nursing unit at Forest Hill Manor. There, the staff provided for all her needs and gave her wonderful care.
She was a kind and loving woman, and had a wonderful sense of humor. She will be terribly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan (John) Brown of St. Augustine, Fla., and Julie Burbridge Hauck (David Hauck) of Laguna Beach, Calif.; stepdaughter, Karen Adkins of Santa Clara, Calif.; grandchildren, Robert Chandler and Jeff Chandler, both of St. Louis, and Anna Davison of Des Moines; stepgrandson, Matthew Brown of Albuquerque, N.M.; and great-grandchildren, Tori and Robbie Chandler of St. Louis and Andrea and Sarah DeAngelo of Des Moines.
A memorial service will be held in California.
