Morgan (Kloubec, Betty Jo
Betty Jo Morgan (Kloubec, Kessler) passed onto her dear Lord on Aug. 7, 2010, surrounded by her family at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Per Betty Jo's wishes her body has been cremated. Friends may visit from 4 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Betty was born May 7, 1944, in Rock Island, Ill., the daughter of Joseph and Betty Kessler. She graduated from Davenport Central in 1962. During her childhood, Betty and her brother spent four years with foster parents, Clarence and Vera Erickson in Prosper, Minn. Betty was always very fond of her foster parents and the life lessons she learned while she was with them. Betty married Gene Kloubec. They later divorced. Betty spent several years working at Century Engineering. Betty also volunteered during election times. Betty's greatest love was for her children and her grandchildren. She spent most of her later years spending time fishing with her grandchildren, playing with them and just being involved in their life. Betty has been a devoted Christian and has always had a great devotion to Christ. Betty would always care for others before she would herself, a natural sacrifice she always made for her family and friends.
Betty is survived by her three children, Kevin Kloubec of Cedar Rapids, Wendy (Mark) Fritz of Mansfield, Texas and Melody Morgan of Cedar Rapids; a brother, John (Gail) Kessler of Moline, Ill.; her mother, Betty Meyers of Barefoot Bay, Fla.; a sister, Kathy (Roger) Bean of Palm Bay, Fla.; her grandchildren, Jessica, James, Janae, Drew and Mason; and great-grandchildren, Jayden and Madison. She is also survived by her dear friend, Trina Weeks and her husband, Bruce.
Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Tamara; father, Joseph Kessler; stepfather, Tony Meyers; and a sister, Diane Monroe.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Fairfax State Savings Bank (P.O. Box 277, Fairfax IA 52228).
