Morgan, Jeanne L.
Jeanne L. Morgan, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Funeral Mass: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at St. Jude Catholic Church by Father Mark Reasoner. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, where a prayer service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her three daughters, Therese (David) Long of Cochise, Ariz., Cheryl Lynn (Tom) Happ of Cedar Rapids and Pat (Dave) Vik of Kiowa, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn in 1997; her parents, James and Della Chaplin; and her sister, Harriet Apsey.
Jeanne was born May 31, 1924, the daughter of James and Della (Peterson) Chaplin, in England. On April 4, 1945, she married Glenn Morgan in England. She was a nurse for England's Royal Air Force and an ambulance driver during World War II.
