Morgan, Helen Marie
Helen Marie Morgan, 89, of Kingston Hill, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011, in Hiawatha after a short illness. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. A rosary will be held Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday after 9 a.m. at the church.
Helen is survived by daughter, Jolene (Larry) Fisher of Washington; sons, Doug of New Ulm, Minn., Richard (Daretha) of Mulberry Grove, Ill., and William (Sharlene) of Cedar Falls; 12 grandchildren, Joseph (Jennifer) Morgan, Kelli (Greg) McCormick, Jim Morgan, Rachel (Chad) Ozborn, Heather (Joel) Miller, Sara Morgan, Aaron (Laura) Fisher, Troy (Teri) Fisher, Eric Fisher, Jason (Carolyn) Fisher, Kaitlyn and Shaun Morgan; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Janice Hatter of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph F. Morgan and George Schuler; one sister, Rosemary Schumacher; and uncle, George McGrath.
Helen was born Sept. 5, 1921, in Dubuque, the daughter of John and Leona (McGrath) Schumacher. She married Joseph F. Morgan on May 16, 1940, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. He died June 4, 1985. She married George Schuler on Sept. 12, 1987, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Helen worked as a receptionist for Martin-Marietta, retiring in 1979.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a 50-year member of Cedar Auxillary 193 NALC.
Helen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and watching them grow and she liked shopping.
She will be greatly missed by her family.
