Moore, Gary
Gary E. Moore, 51, of Tiffin, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a sudden illness.
There will be a time for visitation from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday concluding with a brief service at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday in Omaha, Neb.
Gary Eugene Moore was born Dec. 21, 1957, in Omaha, Neb., the son and Jack W. Moore Sr. and Bonnie J. (Noah) Moore. He was a 1975 graduate of Bryan High School in Omaha. On Aug. 14, 1976, he married Clarion Ellis. From this marriage two children were born, Melissa and Jeremy. He later married Juliet Cabacungan on Feb. 10, 1994. He and “Joy” had three daughters, Monica, Elizabeth, and Rosemary. Gary has been in retail sales most of his life, working for companies such as Pamida, McCrory's, ShopKo, Hobby Lobby, and T.J. Maxx throughout the United States. In Nebraska, Michigan, Illinois, Kansas, Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon and Iowa.
He was a man that enjoyed life, especially the social times with family, friends and total strangers, (who became friends!). Gary cherished the time with his family camping, traveling, going on the adventures, watching movies, especially the old time ones!
His family includes his wife, Joy; children, Melissa Ray (Chris) of Lexington, Mo.; Jeremy Moore (Jennifer) of Council Bluffs; Monica, Elizabeth, and Rosemarie Moore all at home; four grandchildren, Nicholas Thompson, Christina Ray, Charlotte Moore and Cameron Moore; his mother, Bonnie Moore of Omaha; sister, Connie LaPage of Tennessee; brothers, Jack W. Moore Jr. (Colleen) and Jeffrey Moore (Misty) all of Omaha.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Jack W. Moore Sr.
