Moore, Eileen S.
Eileen S. Moore, 61, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie, Ind.
She was born Jan. 2, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Neil and Eula Wood and graduated from Marion High School.
Eileen received her Bachelors and Masters Degree from the University of Iowa and worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for twenty years at Meridian Services. More recently she was the director of the Child Advocacy Center, a division of Meridian Services.
She was a member of College Avenue United Methodist Church for more than thirty years, the Delaware County Prevent Child Abuse association and served as a board member for the Child Advocacy Center of Indiana. Eileen dedicated her life to families and children, including her own which she loved dearly. She was also an avid golfer and enjoyed whale watching.
Survivors include her husband of 15 years, Patrick Moore; her children, Sarah Gehring and Emily Long (husband, Matthew); a grandson, Michael Long; her parents; a niece, Kara Steffen (husband, Randy) and family; and a nephew, Nick Leymaster (wife Joni) and family.
Eileen was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Leymaster.
Services were held Nov. 10, 2012 at College Avenue United Methodist Church, Muncie, with the Rev. Chip Gast officiating. Private burial will take place at a later date.
