Moon, William C. 'Bill'
William C. “Bill” Moon, 79, of Grimes, passed away Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at Regency Care Center in Norwalk. Memorial Service:
11 a.m. Saturday at McLaren's Chapel. Inurnment: Resthaven Mausoleum. Visitation: from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday before service at McLaren's Chapel.
Bill was born Aug. 24, 1930, to Claire and Wilma (Crabtree) Moon. He worked for 30 years in the humane society in Florida and Iowa. Bill appeared weekly on Dr. Max kids show with animals in Cedar Rapids as he was well known for his love of all animals. He was a volunteer fireman in Bertram and owned and operated Moon's Restaurant in Anamosa for nine years. Bill had lived in the Des Moines area since 1992 and was a member of Walnut Creek Community Church.
Bill is survived by his wife, Patricia Moon; two sons, Bill Moon and Jeff (Nancy) Moon; daughter, Georgina Moon; brother, Donald Keith (Gloria) Moon; two sisters, JoAnne (Doug) Kutschat and Bev (Ray) Nash; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Chris and Steven Moon; two sisters, Geraldine Magilton and Mary Clapp; and a brother, Jack Moon.
