Moon, Richard Carpenter
Richard Carpenter Moon, 82, of Colorado Springs, Colo., died Friday, April 23, 2010, at Penrose Main Hospital, Colorado Springs, following a brief illness. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held in Cedar Rapids at a later date.
Survivors include his daughters, Dodie Moon Easton (Randy) of Cedar Rapids, Nan Rubley (Ted) of Colorado Springs, Elizabeth Chadwick (Paul) of Friday Harbor, Wash., and Sara Moon of St. Louis. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel Moon; and grandson, Richard Carpenter Easton.
Richard “Dick” was born March 14, 1928, in Cedar Rapids and lived here until 1965. After living in multiple cities he and his wife, Muriel, retired to Colorado Springs in 1990.
Richard was a wise, honorable and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed.
