Moomey, Dennis L.
Dennis L. Moomey, 60, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at his home. Memorial Gathering: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Born May 18, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Dennis was the son of Elmus and Lenore (Peyton) Moomey. In 1971, he graduated from Cedar Rapids Prairie High School. He married Peggy Lindsey in 1972. They later divorced. Dennis worked for 43 years as a delivery driver for Dr Pepper Snapple group.
Dennis' joys were fishing, hunting and word games. His special love was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughter, Tracy (Robert) Houchin of Marion; sons, Dennis Moomey and Seth Moomey (fiancee Callie Welsh), both of Cedar Rapids, and Kasey Moomey of Ely; grandchildren, Robbie, Tayler, Austin, Keana, Keagan, Ellis and Avery; great-granddaughter, Alayna; siblings, Kenneth (Dana) Moomey of Des Moines, Eunice (Terry) Kline of Shellsburg and Delane Moomey of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ernest Moomey.
