Monica M. Roberts of Rogers, Ark., passed away Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017, in Bentonville, Ark.
She was born May 5, 1944, in County Mayo, Ireland, the daughter of John and Mary Burke. In 1953, she moved to Oxford, England, and graduated from St. Thomas Moore High School in 1962. Monica moved to the United States in 1968 and resided in Illinois and Michigan, before moving to Nebraska in 1971. She later moved to Cedar Rapids. She married James (Robby) Roberts on Oct. 13, 1982, in Cedar Rapids. They moved to Rogers in 1996. She was of the Catholic faith. Monica was an avid reader, enjoyed shopping, cooking and most of all visits with her stepchildren and stepgrandchildren. She was a beautician by trade, worked in retail, but most of her life was spent as a homemaker. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and her beloved animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jackie Burke.
She is survived by her husband, James (Robby) Roberts of Rogers; four stepchildren, Deborah Lebbert of Bellevue, Neb., Susan K. Elet and husband Richard of Springfield, Mo., James M. Roberts and wife Lucy, and Jamie C. Wiedel and husband Jeffrey of all of Bellevue; one brother, Tommy Burke and wife Carol of Dorset, England; one sister, Patsy Rawley and husband Frank of Eastborne, England; nine stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services: 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth, Rogers, Ark. Memorial services in Nebraska will be at a later date. Interment in the National Cemetery, Omaha, Neb..
