Molly Ster, 86, of Marion, passed away Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, at her home. Service:
1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Cedar Rapids.
Molly was born Dec. 3, 1930, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Herbert and Mary (Brereton) Baker. She was married to Mike Ster in November 2006. They had a wonderful time traveling, spending time with family and friends and going to Starbucks! They were devoted to each other. Molly enjoyed bridge, knitting, flowers and birds. She was a member of PEO for 60 years, and a lifelong member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Ster of Marion; daughter, Catherine (Lee) Webb of Des Moines; son, David (Nancy) of Sonoma, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Annie Simpson of Brayton; two grandsons, Jason (Lisa) Webb of San Rafael, Calif., and Adam (Suzie) Webb of Sioux City; three precious great-granddaughters, all whom she dearly loved; stepchildren, David (Elizabeth) Ster of Center Point, Cheri (Alan) Boots of Miami, Fla., Barb Novotny of Streamwood, Ill., Paul (Janelle) Ster of Robins and Shawn Ster of Marion; 11 stepgrandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
Molly was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Charles "Charlie" Simpson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Congregational UCC choir.
