Moen, Ruth Arlene Johnson
Ruth Arlene Johnson Moen, 93, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Decorah, passed away Oct. 26, 2011, at St Luke's Hospital. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Glenwood Lutheran Church, Decorah, with the Rev. T. Edwards Breed presiding. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Schluter-Balik Funeral Home in Decorah and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Ruth was born Sept. 12, 1918, in Decorah, the daughter of John and Marie (Nesset) Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie F. Moen; one sister, Ellen Rodenkirk; and brothers, Arthur and Arnold.
Survivors include her daughters, Janet Brooks (Spencer) of Bennington, Neb., Karen Taylor (Bev) of Cedar Rapids and Sharen Moen of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
