MJ Miller, 64, of Iowa City, died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015.
MJ was born Nov. 3, 1950, in Miami, Fla., to Max and Jane (Chambers) Davis. She spent her early childhood in Miami and later adolescence in the Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C.

Later in life, she was active as a volunteer with Iowa City Hospice and at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in the nursery and the day of surgery family waiting area.
MJ cared deeply about the people in her life and cherished her many roles as a friend, sister, daughter, wife, mother and Nana.
She loved surrounding herself with beauty, especially the beauty of nature. The mountains of Colorado held a special place in her heart.
Throughout her life, MJ was unendingly dedicated to her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jim; their two children, Ben (Noor) Miller of Iowa City and Kate Miller Chapman (Gaye Chapman) of Portland, Ore.; three grandchildren, Alia and William Miller and Lucas Chapman; her mother, Jane Davis of Iowa City; and her brothers, Bill Davis of Norfolk, Va., and Scott (Stephanie) Davis of Linden, Va.
She was preceded in death by her father, Max.
A visitation will be Friday, Feb. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. A memorial service and celebration of MJ's life will occur at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Christ the King Lutheran Church.
