Miskimen, Carroll K.
Carroll K. Miskimen, 88, of 3527 Field Stone Pl. SW, died Thursday, March 25, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital from a short illness. Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Charles Stevens will officiate. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl (Craig) McCormick of Cedar Rapids; a son, Douglas (Chris) of Solon; and a brother, Charles (Dona) of Kansas. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Brian and Brett McCormick; and a good friend, Cindy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene; two brothers, Darrell and Harvey; and two sisters, Aleda and Elgia.
Carroll was born April 16, 1921, in Elgin, Neb., the son of Charles and Hilda Anderson Miskimen. He married Lorene C. Parker on June 16, 1946, in Cedar Rapids. Lorene passed away in January 2010. Carroll was an electrician for over 40 years. He worked for several local contractors; the most recent was Skogman Homes. He was a member of IBEW and a former member of Eastern Star, the Shrine and the Masons. Carroll proudly served in the Navy during World War II.
He had a great sense of humor, enjoyed woodworking, going on rides with his dog Toby and the time he spent with his friends and family.
A memorial fund has been established in Carroll's name.
