Minnaert, Judith F. 'Judy'
Judith F. “Judy” Minnaert, formerly of Cedar Rapids and Ottumwa, passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Hope Hospice House in Fort Myers, Fla.
Judy was born July 1, 1932, in Walker, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Ada Sanders Heiserman. She received her education in Winthrop, Iowa. Judy was an officer in Peoples Bank in Cedar Rapids for a number of years. She married Peter Minnaert Jr. on July 27, 1974, in Lakeland, Fla. The couple made their home in Florida for several years, before moving to the Ottumwa area. Judy returned to Florida in 2002.
Survivors include three stepchildren, Mike Minnaert (Kathy) of Brooklyn, Iowa, Jane Warner (Lloyd) of Solon, and June Davis (Jeff) of Kearney, Mo.; stepgrandchildren, Shawn Minnaert (Heidi) of Brooklyn, Nate Minnaert (Cassie) of Brooklyn, Kari Ernst (Thaine) of Fallon, Nev. and Jake Davis of Kearney; one sister, Sandy Warnke of Fort Myers; two brothers, Wayne Heiserman (Sally) of Bloomfield, and Dave Heiserman (Jan) of Cape Coral, Fla.; two nieces, Bridgette Monaghan (Brian) of Masonville, and Samantha Cowan (Joe) of Independence; three nephews, Eric Heiserman (Susan) of Chicago, Billy Heiserman (Angie) of Keosauqua and Rod Warnke (Angela) of Dubuque; two stepnieces, Jodi Beggs (Jamie) of Ray City, Ga. and Patti Lyon (Kyle) of Independence; eight great-grandchildren; and 17 great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Judy's family would like to thank the staff at Hope Hospice House for the care and kindness given to Judy and her family. Special thank you to nurses Theresa and Kathy and social workers Cassie and Laurie.
A family gravesite memorial service is being planned for a later date. Cremation services have been provided by Fort Myers Mortuary Services.
