Miner, Georgia A.
Georgia A. Miner, 80, died Thursday, June 17, 2010, at the Monticello Nursing and Rehab Center. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 21, at the United Methodist Church in Anamosa. The Rev. Laurie Riley will officiate at the service. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Anamosa.

Surviving are her children, Steven (Marla) Miner of Center Junction, Michael (Jacki) Miner Sr. of Anamosa, Ann (Merlyn) Taylor of Broadhead, Wis., and Barbra (James) Kos of Martelle; a sister, Alice Grassfield; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a half sister, Dorothey Postel; son-in-law, Merle Taylor; and a grandson, Stephen Kos.
Georgia Anne Grassfield was born Aug. 22, 1929, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of George and Maude (Hay) Grassfield. She was a 1948 graduate of Anamosa High School. On April 17, 1949, Georgia and Carl Miner were united in marriage. Georgia spent most of her early life working with Carl on the family farm. Later she took a position as a nursing aide at the Anamosa Care Center. Georgia enjoyed knitting and crochet.
She will be missed dearly by those closest to her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
