MILTON EUGENE RETZ

Milton Eugene Retz, 87, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at Regional Medical Center in Manchester. He was born on April 13, 1929, in Manchester, the son of Lyle and Mildred (Traver) Retz. Milton was raised and educated in the area, and graduated from Manchester High School.
On Dec. 4, 1949, Milton was united in marriage to Doris Toms. Together they farmed west of Ryan until retiring to Manchester in 2001.
Milton was an active member of Farm Bureau and many farm organizations. He enjoyed his grandchildren, playing cards and golfing. In later years, Milton loved the long trips to California to spend time with his son.
Milton will be missed by his four children, Janet (Dave) Bergeron of Norwalk, Kathy (Tim) Dolan of Manchester, Steven (Carol) Retz of Carol Stream, Ill., and David (Terry Meyerson) Retz of Benicia, Calif.; his grandchildren, Jessica (Tony) Walhus of Decorah, Jared (Jackie) Rude of Central City, Doria (Scott) Andrews of Cedar Rapids and Jason (Ashley) Retz of Arcola, Ill.; great-grandchildren, Kailee Lewis, Kelsey Rude, Lance Retz, Saxon Dolan, Brianna Andrews and Elsie Walhus; a brother, Richard (Shirley) Retz of Manchester; a sister, Lila Schubacher of Wisconsin; a sister-in-law, Linda Toms of Manchester; and special friend, Delores Stelken of Manchester.
Milton was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, on Sept. 24, 2012; his parents; and a brother.

Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at United Methodist Church in Manchester, Iowa.
Visitation: 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester. Also, one hour before the service at the church on Monday.
Interment: Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
