at Amana Refrigeration before enlisting in the U.S Army in 1957, traveling around Washington, D.C. serving as President Eisenhower's Honor Guard. In 1959 Dale returned from his service and went back to work for Amana Refrigeration. On Sept. 5, 1959, Dale married JoAnn Seda at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clutier, IA. The couple moved to Tennessee in 1969 following Dale's career, where he supervised Amana's microwave line and owned and operated Fisher's Gun Shop. Upon retirement in 1981, Dale and his family moved back to Iowa, where they settled in Belle Plaine returning to the same home, they started in. Dale went to work for Roth Appliance in Belle Plaine from 1981-1988. During this time, he took up farming and opened Iowa Pheasants N More Hunting Lodge in 1996.
Dale was an avid outdoorsman, hunting, trapping and fishing. Taking yearly trips to Leach Lake, Minn., and Canada, where he would always catch the biggest fish. He had a love for nature, riding around farms and gravels roads listening to Willie's Roadhouse. His favorite spot being his cabin on the Iowa River. When Dale wasn't outside, he could be found at the casinos, gambling or enjoying Fried Cat Fish at the buffets, from Meskwaki Casino in Tama to the Stardust Casino in Vegas.
Most of all, "Papa" as they called him, had a love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his hunting dogs, Ginger, Rex, Homer, Scout and Charlie.
Dale was a member of the Belle Plaine American Legion.
