Milo Allen Popp Sr., 85, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, Iowa.
The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, at Faith Lutheran Church, located at 155 Boyson Rd., Marion, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at the church conducted by Pastor John Albertson. Burial will follow at Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Milo was born Nov. 26, 1933, in Hankinson, N.D., the son of Allen and Ruby Popp. He graduated from Hankinson High School and went on to graduate from North Dakota State School of Science. On Jan. 17, 1953, Milo was united in marriage to Carol Elaine Henninger. He was employed with Collins Radio until his retirement. Milo was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Marion.
Milo is survived by his daughter, Terrie McCarthy of Cedar Rapids; son, Milo Jr. (Karen) Popp of Swisher, Iowa; two sisters, Karen Hutchinson of Ruidoso, N.M., and Darlene (Vinton) Zabel of Mesa, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Jamie (Rebecca) Russman, Milo III (Johanna) Popp, Arthur (Lindsay) Popp and Caroline (Brady) VerMerris; seven great-grandchildren, Silas Russman, Milo Popp IV, Isabella Popp, Baelah Popp, Arieah Popp, Rowan VerMerris and Lauren VerMerris; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Hutchinson.
Memorials may be made in Milo's memory to Faith Lutheran Church or the Swisher American Legion Baseball.
