Mills, Phyllis 'Mommmmm'

Phyllis “Mommmmm” Mills, 72, of Troy Mills, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at Northbrook Manor Care Center in Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life: 10 a.m. Sept. 20, 2013, at Troy Mills Christian Church by the Rev. Jamie Wolfe. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.

Survivors include her mother, Byrdena Williams; four children, R.D. (Mary) Benion, D.D. Plym, Mendee Dixon and Marcey (Mark) Liebe; nine grandchildren, Jami (Eric) Modracek, Joel Owens, Cali Plym, Kramer and Noah Dixon and Tristen, Taron, Traxton and Teagan Liebe; a great-granddaughter, Reese Modracek; one great-grandchild on the way; two sisters, Lou Ellen Kramer and Lulu Cayabyab; and her furry friend, “Dab” along with several other furry grandpets.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Phyllis was born Nov. 26, 1940, the daughter of Merle and Byrdena (Ramsey) Kramer. She graduated from Troy Mills High School. Phyllis was hard working and had many different jobs. She most recently retired from the Cedar Rapids Walmart.

Phyllis always had bowls full of candies and sweets for everyone who visited her little pink house. She enjoyed spending her time with her family and friends. Phyllis collected rocks from everywhere she visited and liked traveling to Florida to visit her sister and dad. She was always full of smiles and was a “Mommmmm” to everyone.
