Susie was born Dec. 13, 1944, in Iowa City, the daughter of Ray and Eileen (Hanson) Pinney. She was a graduate of Regina High School. On June 7, 1975, Susie married Jimmie Miller at Danforth Chapel in Iowa City.
For 30 years Susie was employed as a senior clerk in the records department at ACT.
Susie was a gifted artist. If it didn't move Susie would decorate it. She loved all holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween. She designed and painted beautiful Christmas ornaments and other creations for all of the events of life. Susie always designed T-shirts for the annual North Liberty Library Summer Reading Program. She was proud of her Irish heritage, enjoyed the time spent at the casino and playing boggle. Most important to Susie was her family, friends and her pets.
“May the best day of your past be the worst day of your future.”
Susie is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Jimmie; their son, Randy and his wife, Amanda; four grandchildren, Randy and Amanda's children, Caleb and Sullivan; and Alexander and Keegan, and their mother, Brittany; her sister, Sherry of Santa Rosa, Calif.; her dearest friends, Terre Dolphin, Sue McConnell and Chris Dohrer; and her beloved companions, Princess, Mo, Pesante and Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Marilyn and John.
