Miller, Mildred L.
Mildred L. Miller, 77, of 3570 Hagerman Rd., Toddville, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Pastor Burr Bryant of the Alburnett United Methodist Church will officiate. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids.
Surviving to honor her memory are her husband of 59 years, George; four sons, Wayne (Pam) of Chillicothe, Ill., Edward (Sheryl) of Toddville, Allyn (Amy) and David (Melody), both of Alburnett; three sisters, Neva Meehan of Montana, Bethel Toms of Arizona and Ruth (Ray) Frazer of Colorado; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Leonard; three sisters, Hazel, Katherine and Edith; three brothers, Glenn, Dan and “Bud”; and two grandsons, Thomas and Timothy.
Mildred was born March 20, 1932, in Delhi, Iowa, to Joseph and Lillian Johnson Davis. She married George A. Miller on Nov. 11, 1950, in Anamosa. She was a homemaker and member of the Alburnett United Methodist Church. Her hobbies include ceramics, painting, quilting, embroidery, reading, word puzzles, watching game shows, gardening, and most of all caring for her family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
