Miller, Lois Ann
Lois Ann Miller, 70 of Stockton, Ill., passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the University Hospital in Madison, Wis.
She was born Dec. 22, 1942, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Victor and Martha (Feller) Burken. She was a graduate of Goose Lake High School. Lois married Elmer Miller June 14, 1981, in Pearl City, Ill.
She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Stockton. Lois spent her time helping her husband with his business and raising five boys. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, cooking and canning.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer; five sons, Larry (Holly) Michel of Rock Island, Ill., Terry Michel of Stockton, Robert Michel of Clinton, Tom (Lesa) Michel of Fort Huachuca, Ariz. and Terry (Brenda) Miller of Stockton; six granddaughters, Holly Michel, Catey (Steven) Michel, Leah Michel, Jennifer Michel, Sara Michel and Catherine Michel; five sisters, Anna (John) Lorenzen of Bryant, Marietta Trenkamp of Clinton, Judith (Larry) Farrell of Clinton, Dora (Wayne) Meyer of Maquoketa and Elaine (Ronald) Holdgrafer of Bryant and eight brothers, Eugene (Nancy) Burken of Miles, Loren (Betty) Burken of Clinton, David (Kathy) Burken of Clinton, Donald (Linda) Burken of Clinton, Jerome (Janis) Burken of Clinton, Leo Burken of Spragueville, Earl (Colleen) Burken of Clinton and Daniel (Lois) Burken of Miles.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Devin Michel.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 7, at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton, where a Scripture service will begin at 3:45 p.m. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Father Dean Smith presiding. Internment will take place at Ladies Union Cemetery in Stockton.
A memorial fund has been established.
