Miller, Lillian Helen
Lillian Helen Miller, 98, a resident of Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, died there Thursday evening, July 21, 2011. Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West, 1604 J St. SW, by the Rev. William Harnish. Burial: Buffalo Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
Lillian is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Miller in May 1929 and Anna (Funda) Miller in November 1949; seven brothers, Joseph, Wesley, Charles, Jerry, John, Frank and William Miller; and an infant sister.
Lillian was born Feb. 8, 1913, in Toddville, and moved with her family back to Linn Junction in 1917 or 1918. Lillian was baptized at the Buffalo Church at the age of 4 years. She went to Linn School through the eighth grade. Lillian loved on the family farm until November 1961, then moved to a small acreage that she bought from her oldest brother, Joe. Lillian did housekeeping for several families until her retirement in 1985.
Lillian was well known for her love of her Czech heritage. She had an amazing memory for her age and dearly loved her many nieces and nephews and their families.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
