Miller, Joseph
Joseph Miller, 95, died Monday, May 20, 2013, at East Towne Care Center, Independence. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 24, at Grace United Methodist Church, Lamont. Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery, with military graveside rites by the Lamont American Legion. Friends may call from 3 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Fawcett Funeral Home, 745 Washington St. (Methodist Church), in Lamont and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
Survivors include four daughters, Ellen Gaffney (Lloyd Bergfeld) of Hazleton, Patricia (Richard) Decker of Maquoketa, Kathleen Steinocher of Tyler, Texas and Carolyn Miller of Waterloo; one son, Lyle (Nancy) Miller of Oelwein; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one stepbrother, Noah Miller of Wisconsin; two sisters-in-law, Dixie DeWald and Delores DeWald; and two brothers-in-law, Kermit Chesmore and Warren Nichols.
