Mildred Ann Rhodes, 78, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, at Keystone Nursing Home. A time of sharing and remembering will be Saturday, Sept. 5, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ellis Park Duck Pond Pavilion in Cedar Rapids.
She is survived by her children, Kevin (Celia) Rhodes, Roxann Hendryx, Carman Branson and Sandra (Sandy) Fred-erickson; brothers, Duane (Mary) Abben and Millard "Bud" (Dixie) Abben; sister, Dorothy (Clair) Caldwell; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and a son, Raymond Jr.
Mildred was a homemaker and worked evenings as custodian at Armstrong's department store for over 20 years.
She loved to bowl with her family in her younger years, and had a lifelong love of playing cards, board games and solving word puzzles of any type.
Mildred truly enjoyed her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren and was very proud of each and every one of them.
