MILDRED (MILLIE) CLAIRE SCHEEL

Mildred (Millie) Claire Scheel of Summit Point Senior Living Center in Marion, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the age of 89, from a short illness. Services are scheduled for Saturday, April 22, at St. Pius Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.
Millie was born Nov. 23, 1927, in East Weymouth, Mass., the daughter of Charles and Angelina Tucci.
She is survived by her children, Pattie Magee (Craig) of Waterloo, Jeff Scheel (Coleen) of Cedar Rapids, Paula Lukehart (Gregg) of Springville, Mark Scheel (Heather) of Gainesville, Fla., and Randy Scheel of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald; and sisters, Dorothy and Shirley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oren; a son, Charles (Chuck); her parents; four brothers, Joseph Johnny, Charles Jr. and Francis; and a sister, Rosalie.
She and her husband owned and operated a successful electronics business for 32 years until their retirement in 1987. After retirement, they enjoyed the winter months at their Naples, Fla., home. Millie enjoyed tennis, music, line dancing, crafts, bingo, cooking and baking, and mostly loved being around family and friends.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed by all.
She was a resident of Summit Pointe Senior Living in Marion for the past year where she made many friendships.
